Ouseburn Cricket Club was founded in the 1930's, and having moved around several grounds in the Ouseburn area found a permanent home at Great Ouseburn playing field in 1963.

With the success and expansion of the club, we currently have three adult teams playing in the Nidderdale League. The 1st Team play in the top Division of the league, playing a very high standard of cricket. The aim of club is to give people the opportunity to enjoy cricket and to develop their potential, currently there is a junior playing in the 1st Team who has come through the junior teams and has played at junior county level. The 3rd Team was started a couple of seasons ago with the expressed aim of bridging the gap between junior and adult cricket. The team is made up of some of the more experienced seniors and juniors from 14-17 years. It is great to see that are several father and sons playing cricket in the same team
The Junior section of the club has also grown significantly over the last five years.

There are now 70 juniors playing cricket on a weekly basis. There are six junior teams playing in the Nidderdale Junior League.

The Cricket Club has over the last two years invested in establishing a team of eight qualified ECB cricket coaches.

Throughout the year these coaches are providing 7-17 year olds with high quality coaching based on techniques and exercises used at a professional level. The provision of this coaching is allowing youngsters to participate in a sport which is supporting their development, including teaching them the ethos of team working, sportsmanship and leadership. A number of these youngsters who have progressed through the junior teams have played cricket at junior county standard.

The cricket wickets on the playing fields at Great Ouseburn are recognised by the Nidderdale League as amongst the best in the league and the Village hall changing room facilities and kitchen are excellent. Cricket is very much a community and social occasion which brings people of all ages (the clubs oldest member is over 70).
Apart from the cricket itself, the Cricket Club organises social events for the wider community, these are open to everyone in the community.
